Search Engine Optimisation
Having a website is one thing but being found by your target audience is down to good Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). This is the process of ensuring all of the elements of your website's content tie together with keywords, titles and descriptions and fits within the criteria and guidelines of Google, Yahoo and other search engines.
SEO is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the "organic" or un-paid search results. In general, the higher on the page, and the more regulary a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive via the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and video search.
As an internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for and the actual search terms typed into the search engines. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and webcode to increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove any barriers to the indexing activities of the search engines.
