WHY HAVE A WEBSITE?

Having a web site is such an important addition to your business, not only does it show you're a professional forward thinking company, it could make the difference between you or your competitors getting new business. Whether, you're a multi national company or a small business targeting the UK, when business has finished for the day, a website can be continually working for you 24 hours a day.

If we may give you an example of what an incredible marketing tool a website can be. A few years ago we hired a venue to celebrate our marriage in New Zealand with family and friends. From the company website we were able to look at photographs of the venue from all angles. Decide on what buffet option we fancied, choose wine and pay a deposit. All contact was made via email; we never spoke to anyone or saw the venue, until we arrived two months later!

The owner must have blessed the day that he decided to hire a web designer and a professional photographer to show off his venue to its full potential. We're not suggesting that you shouldn't speak with your client, this is probably a rare example, but how else would we have managed to do that. We would probably have relied on a brochure to be sent to us from NZ and family to book it on our behalf.

If your business mainly provides information, a website can significantly free up time spent on the telephone and can also reduce the cost of sending out information by post, again saving time and money. If you want to promote products that you sell, or a service you provide you can do this to the whole world if necessary. A website is open for business even when you aren't. It's probably the most cost-efficient form of business communication that you can invest in. If you want to be taken seriously then a professional website is a must.

Not only can a website take your business to a wider audience it can also give your clients an insight into your business. They can establish whether you provide the service or product they require. A website can also show that you're credible and can instantly gain a persons trust, just by explaining what your business is in a professional and concise way.

The facts are, that so many people now turn to the web to look for services, businesses and to buy products online and it is growing!
